Achievments supported by mentoring

Author Paulina Frenzel, Switzerland Best Receptionist 2021

If you have ever participated in a competition, you know how exciting and thrilling the time of preparation is.

“The preparation is just as important as the competition itself”, that’s what I learned last year. And It is even more important to have the right mentor.

I’m very happy to have a great team at the Dolder Grand Hotel, Zürich, which supported me in every way.

My team leader Laura Moser, who was a candidate at the AICR Switzerland competition before, was able to share her experiences with me. She supported me in the first steps of the preparation. During the first role plays and constant feedback at work, she taught me a lot. Together with our Assistant Director of Rooms Randy Hitti, they created versatile trainings for different situations and complaints.

The training sessions have strengthened my development. Even during the preparation period, I noticed a personal change. I became more confident, dared to handle difficult situations myself, and I was able to apply what I learned directly to my everyday work.
And everyone knows… “Learning by doing” is the best method.

From national to international level:

n for the world championship. I consider myself lucky, that I was able to get Janine Fink as my mentor. With many years of experience in the hospitality industry and as a former candidate, she trained me for the international level. The preparation became even more detailed and intensive to get the best out of me.

Finally, with these trainings and the support, I was able to make it into the top 10 of the AICR World’s best receptionist.

I am very proud to have such an amazing team.
