Training and Development within the Competition “Best receptionist of the year”

In 2021 the AICR Switzerland introduced a extended Format for the preparation of the candidates. Besides the previous trainings onsite of the event, we also added some online sessions in order to increase the Team Building effect and equal preparation oppertunities.

Though the other question is, why Trainers are enjoying these workshops so much and volonteering on offering their services repeatingly.

My own experience is
Giving Receptionist a chance to show their knowledge by nominating them to a competition like this, is a big motivation for them. They are proudly presenting their place of work. As all have a similar background they easily built a nice, friendly, helpful group supporting each other. By having the oppertunity getting to know each other before the day of the competition you – as trainer – have more time to focus on other learnings than teambuilding.
It also takes away some of the ansiety getting into this unknown situation for the participants. Additionally you grant everyone a similar chance to win- also the hotels that participate for the first time.
