September Gathering at the Dust Doha Hotel
Summer is leaving slowly Qatar and our AICR members are coming back to Doha after their long vacations and heat break. To celebrate the beginning of our AICR Qatar new season, we arranged our monthly gathering at Dusit Doha Hotel on Tuesday 03rd September. Amazing Thai hospitality and welcome experience with a charming eye for detail in the service and in every corner of the brand new hotel located in the central area of West Bay.
It was not only an opportunity to embrace another hospitality atmosphere and concept: our AICR Qatar chapter was happy and honoured to meet new members from prestigious and lifestyle properties like W Doha and Mondrian Hotel. Nice and warm feeling to see new faces around us and willing to join our association to boost our connections and our energy. That’s the power and the beauty of our AICR association: to facilitate and strengthen the professional relationships between members, and to promote and publicise the importance of their profession in order to create friendships and connections which last forever.
Kayak Day
It’s time to have fun with our AICR Qatar team: Juniors and Seniors members were willing to spend an extraordinary day of outdoor activities and team buildings in the middle of the Mangroves at Purple Island.
On 20th April, AICR Qatar decided to change the usual flow of gatherings far away from a conventional hotel venue, with presentations of sponsors and slides about future events, into a more natural (in the very sense of the word) and relaxing experience.
In association with 365 Adventures, we had an amazing and fun kayak session followed by team building games and activities to underline the meaning of being a team and our friendships.
Kayak through the Mangroves of Al Thakhira watching sunset and enjoy delicious BBQ dinner:
Kayaking in Al Thakhira mangroves was a worthy experience. The tour took us through one of the most fascinating mangroves in Qatar, located within a small village just a few kilometres North of Al Khor.
The village rests on the edge of an estuary. The excursion gave us an in-depth overview of Mangroves ecosystem and the pleasure of Kayaking followed by a BBQ Dinner at shore.
A great activity for groups in the Mangroves of Al Thakhira indeed!
We got loads of equipment such as planks, ropes and glue and it was up to us what we could build and how we could do so! Our guide provided us with top tips on knots and raft design ideas. Once we built it and named it, we put your raft to the test.
Would ours pass the Mangrove channel???
It was a great idea to connect teams of people building rafts, from logs, ropes, glue and other raw material. It is one of those great Team Building Activities for groups of any size. Starting from scratch to build one that works, it can be a challenging activity indeed. Head to the water channel to test your creations and check who could survive is also very rewarding indeed.
Have some fun by vying for the title of “Last remaining raft afloat”. Think creative and try to work for it to work. It was such an hilarious and different afternoon to spend together in a strong connection with nature and away from the buzz of the city for once.
More fun and sportive activities for our AICR Qatar team to come just after the heat of our summer time.
Stay tuned and…exercise!
P.S. No pictures of our rafts available as…they all sink a part from our team members
