The Candidate’s Hotel must be a Fully Paid AICR Côte d’Azur Member.

Candidate selection:
- Only applicants with a Receptionist status will be considered (higher positions will not be accepted)
- Candidates need to be available to participate in the full duration of the competition.
- The over-all Winner will take part of the judging process for the competition of the following year.
Each candidate is required to:
- wear their current Hotels full uniform including name badge
- conduct interview and role play in English (should be considered when choosing the candidate, to have a good command of English)
The General Manager of the Applicant’s hotel allows the candidate to participate in this competition, and will give him the guidance and support needed.
The Management of the over- all- Winner’s Hotel agrees to bear the costs of travelling and accommodation during the International Contest.

The over-all Winner will receive a dedicated training from the AICR Côte d’Azur members and partners and is required to attend the International Competition to be held abroad the following year.
The Competition grows from strength to strength each year and has gained the respect of Hoteliers and Sponsors. It meets its objective as a training tool for the younger generation and the future AICR and the Hospitality Industry, with the emphasis on “Amicale”.

HISTORY
The Amicale Internationale des Chefs de Réception et Sous Directeurs des Grands Hôtels or the International Association for Front Office Managers and Assistant Hotel Managers was founded in the Cote d’Azur in France in 1964, the Registered Office of the AICR is the Hotel Ritz, Paris.
The Amicale currently has 18 sections worldwide:
Australia / Austria / Cote d’Azur, France / Czech Republic /Dubai, United Arab Emirates / Estonia / Germany / Indonesia / Italy / Morocco / New Zealand / Paris, France / Poland / Qatar / Singapore / Spain / Switzerland / United Kingdom.
The David Campbell Trophy
The late David Campbell became Chef de Reception at The Ritz Hotel, Paris, after gaining a wealth of International experience.
In memory of David and in acknowledgement of his dedication and passion to the industry, the International Receptionist of the Year Competition was formed, with a Trophy designed and sponsored by the Paris AICR section, to be presented each year.
Marcel Elbaz, Graham Bamford, Annie Boslem and the AICR International Committee members, worked together with the International College of Hotel Management in Adelaide, Australia, to establish the rules and format, launching the Competition in 1995. Jane Renton continued these efforts after Annie Boslem’s departure two years later.
