AICR Congress taking place in Vienna

About Vienna

There is more to Vienna than being the metropolis of music, coffee houses, theatres and chocolate cake.  Voted as the world’s most livable city by Mercer for the sixth time in a row in 2015, Vienna is culturally on the cutting edge.  For centuries, Vienna was the imperial centre of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy. Today, Vienna is again the gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. Austria’s capital offers its visitors an endless choice of things to see and do, opulent architecture, a vibrant cultural scene alongside many shopping possibilities.  Vienna is also considered to be the world’s music capital! More famous composers have lived here than in any other city – in Vienna, music is literally in the air.

We look forward to welcoming AICR members from around the world to the AICR Congress which will be held in Vienna from 13 to 17 January 2016.

Vienna is full of contrasts, old and new, traditional and modern, conservative and flashy.  Congress participants will have the opportunity to wander along narrow, medieval alleyways and across imperial squares, view Schönbrunn Palace and follow the footsteps of Emperor Franz Josef and his wife Sissi, marvel at the majestic architecture along the Ring Boulevard and enjoy Viennese wine in a tavern in the midst of the vineyards.

Congress participants will also enjoy the welcome evening at the former Stock Exchange Building.  Entering the ballroom is an event in itself as its impressive spaciousness and the ornate stucco ceiling are overwhelming.

They will enjoy the grandeur of the Grand Hotel during the gala evening and have a peak behind the scenes as the stallions are trained at the Spanish Riding School.  Join the AICR Congress 2016 to discover what else there is between Waltz and Sacher cake!

We look forward to welcoming you!
